My husband taught me how to make his chicken noodle soup. I'd tell you but then... well you know. Just kidding.
My kids all love this recipe. My eldest hums so loudly while enjoying it. It is a bit messy for sensory seeking kids but it's healthy so we just go with it and change shirts afterwards. Both boys make a big mess.
Boil a whole chicken until the meat falls off the bones. Remove it from the water and chill while you chop up the celery, onions, and carrots. Toss them in the stock. Salt and pepper and a bay leaf is the standard. Sometimes we put in rosemary. When the chicken is cool enough, pick the meat from the bones and put into the pot. Add egg noodles when the carrot are nearly done. (Hint: we do this with out left over Turkey from Thanksgiving too!)
Yummy! My chicken is bubbling, right now!
