Boys Crazy Pocket Pants

For this project you need a pair of thrifted men's jeans and some scraps. I had a bunch of diamonds cut for a quilt that I quit.

I use the same pants pattern from Kwik Sew that I've used for all my little boy pants. He likes them and they are comfy. Cut out the peices for the pants and sew the center seams.

Next sew your diamond pockets wrong sides together and leave about and inch open for turning.

Sew the pockets on the back of the pants before sewing the front and back of the pants together.

Now for the cuffs. These make the pants grow-able. Measure the circumfrance of the ankle and add 1/2" for seam allowance. This is the length. The width is 4 1/2" for a 2 inch cuff.

Iron the cuffs lengthwise and iron 1/4 inch on one side. Sew them right sides together to make a loop. Sew the cuffs right side to wrong side (or right side it doesn't really matter) of the pant legs. Fold them to the right side and top stitch the pre-ironed 1/4" seam. Roll them up for now and when you boy gets taller as boys tend to do... unroll them. Add elastic waist as usual.
